Cruel, even by April standards

It's snowing on the lower flanks of Tiger Mountain. And doing its best to stick. That little 'Frost' Peach in the foreground? In a typical year every single blossom sets fruit and I have to thin hundreds, if not thousands of tiny green peaches so that I can get a crop of good-sized peaches that don't break the branches. I'm thinking that won't be necessary this year, unless there are some very determined and cold-tolerant bees out there.

Hello. We're over in Seattle. The hail, sleet, snow, lightning and thunder we had yesterday leads me to conclude that the locusts will soon be arriving.

What an adorable pup you have. How are the older cats tolerating the new youngster? I had no idea ducks ate slugs. I know Seattle has a city chickens program. I wonder if city ducks will be next?

Very much enjoyed visiting your blog--found you via Blotanical's map feature while searching for other PNW blogs. --Curmudgeon

Mrs. Perils has been known to flit about the yard with an artist's brush doing the bees' work. And succeeding, I'm pretty sure.

just saw your link at another blog and realized you were a pacific northwester, too. sorry to see you have not posted in a while.

yessssss, what a wet, chilled spring we had with late snows and cold dips. we were out covering hydrangeas hoping to preserve the blooms they were trying to set. i don't think i have ever seen a cooler spring or a chilled one which lasted all the way into june.

LOL - we had just decided to move back to Seattle, I was looking for apartments around this time. I thought Seattle was trying to tell me something, like maybe we should not move here afterall! But we did, and all is well. Wonderful to meet another local blogger!
